The world did not end and now we face even bigger problems

Francisco Miraval

The Messiah did not return and the Anunnaki were nowhere to be seen. We were not conquered by aliens and the expected galactic alignment did not bring enlightenment. Nibiru is still hidden somewhere outside the solar system and the light of Fifth Sun did not shine. In fact, December 21, 2012 was just another day. Now what?

What are we going to do now that we must face our future alone? What we should do now that the apocalypsism of Hollywood failed and that the apocalypsitis promoted by alleged “experts” in alleged “educational” programs has been debunked?

Obviously, we live in a post-modern, techno-scientific, globalized, and neo-pagan era. And that is just the beginning. Some sociologists and anthropologists are saying we are moving into a post-natural and trans-human era. The idea is that we are entering a new era, made possible by techno-scientific advances. In a matter of decades, humans will disappear or, at least, they will no longer be such as they are today. This is not a prophecy. This is what scientists say.

In July 2012, Discovery News published a story about Russian scientists who believe that by 2045 humans will be immortal because they will live in holographic bodies and digital brains. And if you think that is impossible, please remember people thought the earth was flat, that nothing heavier than water could float, and that nothing heavier than air could fly.

According to that article, by 2035 we should be able to download ourselves intro a digital brain and ten years later it will be possible to join a digital brain with a holographic body.

Also, last November, The Telegraph published an interview with American technologist and futurist Ray Kurzweil. He believes that in the near future (10 to 15 years) we will create a world without diseases because all humans will be digital.  Why pay attention to Kurzweil? Because he wrote some of the first programs for IBM and developed the scanner, among many other significant advances.

And that is not all. Last April, Google said that it will soon launch its glasses of “augmented reality,” that is, a kind of miniature computer you will always wear in front of your eyes where you will be constantly receiving all kind of information. In June 2012, the MIT Technology Review said that nobody will ever want to use those glasses… until you see them in action. Then, they will become very popular.

In fact, a well-known phone company is already airing ads where you can see the smartphone they sell being connected to the brain of the use. Trans-humanism is now part of everyday television commercials.

In other words, we are at the threshold of a radical transformation of humanity. We will be replaced by cyborgs (trans-humans) who will also control nature (post-naturalism), thus establishing the superiority of digital human beings.

That new reality now being developed at colleges and laboratories does not depend on prophecies and is scarier that any distorted version of the Apocalypse.
